Ammersee-region and around

The Lake Ammersee is situated about 40 kilometers (25 miles) west of Munich; about 80 kilometers (50 miles) away from Garmisch and the Zugspitze mountain (> 2000 meters high), and some 60 kilometers (35 miles) from the famous castles of King Ludwig II of  Bavaria: Castle Neuschwanstein, Linderhof Castle, Hohenschwangau Castle.

Munich

Munich is the capital of the state of Bavaria and lies near the German Alps. It is Germany’s second most popular tourist destination after Berlin, and has something to offer for everyone. Munich is famous for its architecture and culture, especially classical music and the find arts in its museums, as well as the annual Oktoberfest beer celebration.
